August Member of the Month - Janessa


We're really excited to announce the August member of the month. Janessa works hard, picks up new skills quickly, and doesn't even complain about running workouts! That's the total package if you ask us! Check out her story.

"I am still relatively new to Free Will, having joined this past May. Before CrossFit, I had spent too much time on the treadmill and was doing the same couple of lifting moves at Maxx Fitness, which didn’t amount to much progress. I was looking for something new, and it just so happened that my sister-in-law is a coach at Free Will (Coach Ali). Since I knew how much she loves it coupled with the fact that I was totally jealous of her muscles, I decided to give it a try. So far I have really enjoyed every aspect of CrossFit (except burpees), and feel stronger than ever. I also really enjoy the supportive group atmosphere and friendly competition.

I am excited by the small steps and gradual progress I have been making at slowly increasing weight for each of the moves. I like the slow trend up! It was also really exciting to do my first rope climb.

I want to improve my upper body strength, since that is where I am lacking. I so badly want to be able to do one strict pull up. I am so close! And a TTB is also on my goals list. "
