Don’t get fooled by “Big Food”. There are countless names companies can use in place of sugar on ingredient lists: beet syrup, brown rice syrup, maltose, and agave, to name a few. They use things like beets and brown rice because we will believe it’s a healthier alternative. When you take the sugar out of a whole food, it’s the same as table sugar. Read ingredient lists and know what you’re eating. Just being aware is half the battle.
