Tip Tuesday - Pull Slower

Mechanics➡️Consistency➡️Intensity

This is the process we all follow when starting Crossfit or learning a new move. Teach the mechanics, practice until the mechanics are consistent, then increase the intensity through speed, more weight, and more repetitions.

When it comes to any lift from the floor, its just as important to use this approach for every repetition. It’s very easy to put intensity first, specifically, speed. We’ve all gotten those pre lift butterflies. We start thinking about all the things we have to do right and then we rush the lift. For most of us, technique is the limiting factor so we can afford to sacrifice a little speed or power without sacrificing how much weight we are able to lift. The beauty of it is that you may sacrifice nothing because of improvements in technique. So, pull slower, don’t focus on speed, and improve your technique.
