What is CrossFit?

 

CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movements performed at a high intensity. It is a program that incorporates aspects of Olympic lifting, gymnastics, running, and plyometrics. CrossFit's aim is to build well rounded athletes that will excel in a wide range of skills. Fitness is measured by how competent you are in each of the following categories:

 

1. cardiovascular/respiratory endurance
2. stamina
3. strength
4. flexibility
5. power
6. speed
7. agility
8. balance
9. coordination
10. accuracy

 

CrossFit workouts will be intense, but all exercises will be scaled to each athlete's fitness and experience level. We use proven methods to achieve your goals and leave out all the planning and guesswork. The workouts are already written so all you have to do is get through the door and we'll take care of the rest. 

 

Gym Rules

 

1. SAFETY FIRST

Our job is to keep you, and those around you, safe. If your form is breaking down, we will make you scale down the weight or difficulty. We are more concerned with quality than quantity. 

 

2. NEGATIVITY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED

For some, it is a victory just to show up or finish the workout. This is a positive environment where we encourage and support our everyone. Making fun of, one upping, etc. will not be tolerated. No matter how fit you are, we are all here for the same reason and we will push each other to achieve our goals. 

 

3. PUT IT BACK WHERE YOU GOT IT!

If you can lift it during the workout, you can put it away when you're done. 

 

4. BE ON TIME 

These are group classes, so when you're late, it affects everyone.

 

5. INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO NEW MEMBERS

They may have to revive you later (just kidding!). Community is very important to us and these people will be your motivators and support group. 

 

6. BE PATIENT

You will be learning new exercises and being challenged every day. We use some moves that will take time to learn. All we ask for is effort and the results will be there!


7. NO WHINING

(See rule 2) Keep a positive attitude. What we do here is HARD and other members don't need the negativity. We will lift weights, get sweaty, and sometimes get a little dirty. It's all part of the process.

 

8. DON'T CHEAT

No one will remember what your score was.  Everyone will remember if you cheated. These are group classes, but your biggest competition is you. 

 

9. SHOW SUPPORT

If you finish before everyone else, cheer your fellow comrades on! Class isn't over until everyone finishes.

 

10. ATTEND CLASS!

Practice only makes perfect when the practice is consistent. We get it, life gets busy! All we ask is 1 hour a couple times a week. If you can get here, we'll do the rest!

If you are looking for a challenge that is fun and rewarding, this is the place. The welcoming and knowledgeable coaches push you while making sure you are lifting safely with proper form. There is a place for every fitness level at this gym with all the workout being scalable. Each week I see myself improving and gaining confidence.
