We’re excited to recognize Sam as our August member of the month! Sam is a staple in our early classes before she heads off to sculpt young minds. As a former collegiate athlete, she is no stranger to a gym but was looking for a new way to challenge and improve her fitness. It’s been a lot of fun to build on her strengths and throw some new challenges her way. She was nice enough to answer a few questions. Check out her answers below!

What made you want to do CrossFit?
I do CrossFit because I love that it pushes me to the point of exhaustion. It’s never boring and workouts cater to all levels of fitness providing opportunities to grow. 

What do you do for a living?
I am an elementary school teacher. I’m currently teaching first grade.

What is your best advice for someone just starting CrossFit?
Be open to constructive feedback and don’t get frustrated or intimidated when a workout/movement appears too hard.

What is your favorite kind of workout or movement?  
I love all things AMRAP but my favorite movement is a deadlift. 

What’s your favorite activity/hobby outside the gym?
I’ll do anything outdoors. Usually with free time I like to take my dog hiking.
