Our slogan is Move Well, Eat Clean, Be Happy. There are few who embody the ‘move well’ part better than Sam. Maybe it has something to do with her background in dance, but we think a lot of it comes down to her work ethic and the high standards she sets for herself. All that hard work has led to significant changes across the board in her fitness, strength, and confidence. We see you, Sam, and we couldn’t be more proud! Let’s get to know Sam!

Why do you do CrossFit?
I wanted to do something for myself that would make me feel stronger and more motivated. Crossfit has done that and way more for me.

What do you do for a living?
I am a registered nurse.

What is your best advice for someone just starting CrossFit?
Track your progress, whether it be on SugarWOD or in a journal. I was too embarrassed by my numbers in the beginning that I didn’t want to add them to SugarWOD. No number is too small. Tracking progress gives you something to work towards and be able to celebrate when you lift heavier the next time.

What is your favorite kind of workout or movement?  
Push press is the best. Easy answer. 

What’s your favorite activity/hobby outside the gym?
I love to run/walk in the Lehigh Parkway as well as enjoy organized races in the Lehigh Valley. Emmaus Halloween 5k is my favorite. I also love trivia with my friends every Wednesday at Funk Brewing (You should come :). I danced for 12 years and although I haven’t found an organized dance group as an adult, it will still always be my favorite way to move and exercise.
