Another month and yet another chance to brag about one of our members. Luc joined about 8 months ago ready to make a change in his health and hoping to lose some weight. As you’ll read below, he is a driven person who got away from healthy habits. With some accountability and direction for that drive, he’s now working out 3 or more times every week, making improvements to his diet, and the weight is coming off! The key to his success??? His WHY. Luc and his wife are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first child and he was committed to better physical and mental health when their little girl arrives. Check and check! Well done sir!
1. What were your goals when you started CrossFit?
My goals for CrossFit were simple. I just wanted to be healthier and lose weight. I had done CrossFit before and it was the only kind of exercise I ever enjoyed doing. Convincing my wife to join with me was a big challenge but she finally caved in and I know she is so glad she did.
2. How long have you been at Free Will CrossFit?
I have been with Free Will now since October. I had a bit of a drop off early on but I have challenged myself to make committed club every month this year. The community here is the biggest reason I keep coming back..from day 1 everyone just welcomed us in and it’s such a supportive and healthy environment to be around.
3. What is one health/fitness goal that you plan to achieve in the next 6 months?
Goals I wish to achieve: I am focused on making committed club for the year as my long term goal. In the next few months I hope to be able to utilize the rig more for workouts.
4. What do you do for a living?
I like to think I’m a pro gamer, but currently I’m the role of house husband..anticipating the arrival of baby Minnich.
5. You have control of the music. What artists/songs will dominate the playlist?
I listen to everything..and yes that includes country music. Some artists that I have been listening to lately are Nothing, nowhere. , Zach Bryan, and Morgan Wallen. Even though coach Chris won’t agree I also love some Creed! If I’m in the gym I would probably be listening to some heavy rock/punk playlist.
